At Novus, we know firsthand how a fun, community-oriented corporate atmosphere can breed strong involvement in the broader community. In addition to our employees’ individual efforts, as a company we’re proud to share our charitable efforts in these areas:

Jeans Day

A Novus "no jeans" policy led to an innovative idea: What if employees could pay to wear jeans, with the money going to charity? Thus, Jeans Day was born. Each month, a different department picks a charity—often based on the personal experience of an employee within that department. All employees can then pay $5 to wear jeans on a given Wednesday, with Novus matching the amount donated. Since 2006, we’ve "casually" raised over $40K for more than 30 charitable organizations.

Breast Cancer Awareness

Novus has been a strong supporter of breast cancer awareness since 2003, including tailoring our popular Jeans Day activities to benefit the Susan G. Kommen Foundation during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

Crisis Nursery

The Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery partners with parents in crisis to strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect. To support this stellar organization, Novus assembles a "Cook for Kids" team once a month that picks a menu, purchases food and cooks a meal for children in need.

Novus employees volunteer their personal time for a wide range of community organizations, including:

  • Special Olympics

  • Courage Center

  • International Justice Mission

  • Youth Sports Coaching

  • Blood Drives

  • Minnesota Safari Club International

  • Tim Orth Foundation

  • DNR Non-Game Wildlife Program

  • Hanover Planning Commission

  • Eden Prairie Rotary

  • Thrivent Financial Crossroads Group

  • Junior League of Minneapolis

  • And many others
